The third festival was the first to call itself a festival of 3D printing and robotics — and the first to be held in an aviation university hangar, among real aircraft and a helicopter. The same day saw the first dedicated research conference on development in 3D printing and robotics.

The themes of the year can be read straight off the programme: printing wings and fuselages in lightweight plastic, patient-specific titanium implants, industrial metal printing, and the certification of medical devices.
